The "tree" phantom is a phantom who simply hovers over the ground but does not move. To tree it you must use a tree, rock, well or something like that. You force a tree or object and run from the other side. The phantom will try harder and harder to get you but finally gives up when you are too far away. Here's a video:
If you use it on other phantoms that move, they will either move back to their position or start to walking into the tree/well/rock.
